The power of a peaceful parent.

"We cannot underestimate the power of a parent who lives in peace. - SETH DAHL

I came across this quote on Pinterest the other day and I couldn't stop thinking about it.
As a wife to a police officer who is "married" to his job and as a mom of two girls under 4 do I know peace? And after that I began to think about what has given me peace?

That quote was an eye opener for me. You see, through that quote God has shown me that lately I have been relying on certain things to give me peace before Him. I have relied on a clean house, rocking as a parent, sleeping in, and when the husband is home. Do you know how I know this? Because I haven't had peace when my house is a mess, when I've "failed" as a parent, when my husband is working once again when I haven't seen him all week, and I've pressed the snooze button more than once this week. My peace wasn't in Him but in my surroundings and circumstances.. The peace that I clang to last week left a temporary contentment. A peace that does not last and never will.

“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught. - John 14:27 MSG

Jesus said in John 14::27 that He has given us His peace.  His peace that passes all understanding, that knows only joy and casts out all fears, worries and doubts. That is what His peace is and the same peace He has given to us.

Could you imagine having that kind of peace? From sun up to sun down living in such a anointing to where you are unmovable? Sisters. It's possible because that's the Holy Spirit and He's in us. And in the Holy Spirit is God's presence, His love, forgiveness and acceptance. it's been rightly yours since day one and it is available to you right now!

So I want to lift you up today and remind you to have His peace. Because there is so much power in a peaceful parent. The kind of power that the enemy is terrified of and leaves him powerless.
